The Special Olympics

The Special Olympics is an all day event for handicapped people from mostly German schools from Rheinland Pflaz and supported by the US Military and several private organizations in the Kaiserslautern Military Community.
The first Special Olympics were held in two venues, Darmstadt in the Rhein area and Kaislerslautern in the west of Germany.
The Masons provided volunteers who assisted as Buddies to the athletes, translators, activities support etc; for the event held once a year in May at the Polizei Academy near Kaiserslautern.
